About the Bicentennial
About the Bicentennial Steering Committee
The Tallahassee – Leon County Bicentennial in 2024 provides an opportunity to engage the community in the rich history of Tallahassee and Leon County over the past 200 years and join us as we honor our story and envision the powerful next chapter we are posed to write. The Bicentennial is imagined to be a community-wide celebration and commemoration that engages all segments of the community and shares residents’ experiences and stories of Tallahassee from their unique perspective. This year (2023) is the planning year and the entire community is cordially invited to get involved and engaged.
The Tallahassee – Leon County Bicentennial Steering Committee was selected by the Leon County Board of County Commissioners to provide necessary focus, leadership, and resources under one structure to ensure a coordinated marketing and branding framework for the activities associated with the 200th anniversary of our community.
